Hi Simon, Thanks for asking and good luck with your class! Yes, academic use is under the free (noncommercial) license, which automatically appears each time you download and requires clicking "accept" to continue the download. Registration, on the other hand, is purely optional. After a certain number of uses a dialog will pop up and pester you to register, but you can dismiss it every time if you want! If you haven't gotten this reminder dialog but still want to register, you can do it using Chimera menu: Help... Registration... I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C.
