Thx very much for availing chimera beta version 1 build 1602. I have absolutely no problems in opening pdb files. I am interested in using extension like dock, molecular dynamics. I hope these extension work freely. Can anyone tell me how to see python back log (when i commit some error I am asked to see the python back log). Regarding, collatory hub, I have a lan connection & I have failed to connect (several times). I have opengl with me but i have not made path for it, I mean autoexec.bat (ms dos) which way i should set the path? could u just type the line. Since my wordstar is not working i am not able to install many programs (autoexec.bat) if anyone can send me 2 lines of installation of babel autoexec.bat I would be thankful to him my config---

Hello Manish, Thanks for your interest. I can only address the user interface-related parts of your mail (will leave the rest for the programming experts):
- by "python back log" I'm guessing you mean the Reply Log (which will give a traceback of some errors); this can be opened with Settings...Reply Log in the menu. There is also a python shell in which you can type in python statements, called IDLE (open with Extensions... Programming... IDLE).
- I should mention that the ViewDock and Movie extensions do not actually perform docking or dynamics, respectively, but instead are viewers for the output of DOCK 4 (Kuntz group, UCSF) and AMBER molecular dynamics calculations. They should work for you, but you would need to have created the data with these other programs.
I hope this is helpful, Elaine =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Elaine C. Meng, Ph.D. Babbitt Lab and Computer Graphics Lab meng@cgl.ucsf.edu http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/home/meng/index.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
