Is there any chance that a set of PPC Linux binaries will be available at some point? Other than that, my hat's off to you. So far this seems to be an immensely impressive piece of software. Oh, one other thing. Is there a source of pdb files that can be downloaded to provide building blocks for more complex packages? Thank you. Geoff.

We are not planning to compile a PPC Linux version, but we are planning to make a source code release someday :-). But if I were you, I'd install Mac OS X or get a PC because it doesn't look like the graphics hardware vendors (ATI, NVidia) are going to release PPC Linux drivers and Mesa is too slow (and historically too buggy). Of course too slow depends on what you're trying to do, small molecules would be fine. As for PDB files, go to the source, www.rcsb.org. Chimera's open file dialog can fetch any PDB file by the 4 letter code. Or you can download the file and open it (save without compression and give it a .pdb suffix).
