Hi, from what I can tell, there is no way to use the ribbon representation within the highlight lens; the options are limited to atom and bond representations. I am hoping to turn on only the ribbon representation in the highlight lens, leaving atom and bonds disabled. Is this available? If it isn't, wouldn't this be a reasonable feature to add to the highlight lens? thanks, dave

A good idea, though the 1.0 release is frozen feature-wise. I've put this, along with some other highlight-lens improvements on a to-do list. --Eric On Friday, March 14, 2003, at 05:37 PM, David E. Konerding wrote:

Great! While you're at it, I think Pseudobonds should be included in the highlight lens interface. You get a very funny effect when using chain @ca plus a highlight lens that shows all backbone and sidechain atoms: you see both the pseudobond chain and the regular backbone chain at the same time. Since now I am focusing on side chain predictions, I wanted to be able to use chain or ribbon representation for the template and model structures, plus a lens that showed just the sidechain and backbone in wireframe. This lets you see both the global fold and the local data at the same time, without lots of command line typing. Dave
