  I added a feature request to our database for ChimeraX to allow modulating colors.  I agree this would be useful.

  Exporting images with text, pseudobonds and silhouette edges as vector graphics is not easy.  Text labels could be done.  Currently we use dashed cylinders in ChimeraX for pseudobonds instead of dashed lines as in Chimera.  Silhouette edges are not computed as lines, they are just a set of pixels on boundaries where a depth change occurs so it would be difficult to turn those into lines.  Much more feasible would be to save each of these things as a separate bitmap image so they could be used as layers in a photo editing program.
