Hi Elaine, In Chimera, it is command "vop zone" with invert true: Worked perfectly - many thanks. <http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/vop.html#zone> ChimeraX also has this feature, as "volume zone" (with invert true, newMap true): Not yet tried.
