Thanks Elaine, but I am not sure if this link has the answer for what I am looking for. What I want to do within a python script is something along the lines: my2dnumpyarray = make_numpyarray_from_volume_datal(#0) Where #0 is the model number of a volume in chimera. Perhaps the volume data is already stored in a numpy array in chimera (??). In this case I would need the syntax to access this numpy array within my script. Hi Hernando, There is something about where in the code to look for this, in the Volume Viewer documentation: <https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cgl.ucsf.edu%2Fchimera%2Fdocs%2FContributedSoftware%2Fvolumeviewer%2Fvolumeviewer.html%23newformats&data=05%7C01%7Chernando.sosa%40einsteinmed.edu%7C40b87fa6088a40cdf68208da5ad61254%7C9c01f0fd65e040c089a82dfd51e62025%7C0%7C0%7C637922172734962203%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=76rg2UEDO2vI8BmOMz0TChH8cftPtRjiRH%2Fnc5USgf8%3D&reserved=0> I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Dear Chimera, How do you read/copy volume data into a numpy array. I think I saw some code examples that do this in the past but I can't find the ink to them. Thanks Hernando
