
Hi Oliver, Not exactly, at least with commands, but you may be able to accomplish essentially what you desire by using "alias" (string substitution into commands) and/or named selections. See <http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/alias.html> <http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/namesel.html> I'm fond of aliases, which don't require you to go through selection. Is there any way to rename models from the command line? I can do so using the model panel, but I have a script that generates a bunch of different models, and I would like to give them descriptive names apart from the model id in the script.
