Hi John,

I bet your virtual PC has only the Microscoft GDI graphics driver supporting OpenGL 1.1 from 1997 — that graphics driver has so few capabilities Chimera can’t select atoms.  You will need a better graphics driver for ctrl-click to select atoms.  You can check which graphics driver Chimera is using using Chimera menu entry Help / Report a Bug… in the “Gathered Information” field.

Hi

I was wondering if you could help

When I install chimera on my main physical PC I can use function left CTRL and mouse to highlight atoms in green in the graphics interface as below.

However when I install chimera on a virtual PC, this function does not work.

Any ideas on how to get around this issue?

thanks
