Though you can't use drag and drop, you can use Chimera's File→Open dialog or "open" command to open additional files, so you don't necessarily have to revert to Mojave. --Eric Eric Pettersen UCSF Computer Graphics Lab

Hi Elaine, Thank you very much for this information. I will see if it's possible to revert back to Mojave. Best, Alan

Hi Alan, Somebody reminded me that there was an issue with drag-and-drop to Chimera on Catalina, as discussed in this post from a year ago: <https://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/pipermail/chimera-users/2020-June/016910.html>
There is no fix for Chimera, but it works fine in ChimeraX. Our group's development efforts are all on ChimeraX now, and you may want to consider switching. It has many of the same features (fitting, segmentation, etc.) and many advantages (better on large data, many usability improvements, and several entirely new features).

Salient features that are still missing are listed in a section on the download page (click the triangle to expand the section), and certainly you can install both programs and mix-n-match usage as needed. <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/download.html>
I hope this helps, Elaine

Hi Alan, Can you clarify what method of opening you were using? E.g. I'm using Catalina on my Mac and commands like this work fine in both Chimera and ChimeraX:
cd ~/Desktop open amap.mrc bmap.mrc

Hello, I recently updated to Catalina on my Mac and I am now not able to open more than one file at a time in Chimera. Uninstalling the program and then installing the latest version from scratch did not fix the problem. Is there any way to resolve this issue? Alan
