Hi Gleb, Chimera is putting the residue-contact file info on “standard output”, which on current versions of OS X goes nowhere if you started Chimera by double-clicking the icon or via Cytoscape. The only way on the Mac to see the info is to start Chimera from the command line, which means you won’t be able to see the results in Cytoscape, but maybe that’s good enough for your purposes? Anyway, you start Chimera from the command line like this: 1) Start the command line: /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app 2) Drag and drop the Chimera icon onto the resulting terminal window. This will put the path to Chimera in the command line. 3) To the path, remove the trailing space and append “/Contents/MacOS/chimera” and then hit Return. This should start Chimera. The residue-contact file info will appear in the terminal window once you use Chimera to generate the info. —Eric Eric Pettersen UCSF Computer Graphics Lab

I am interesting where actually Chimera saves various tmp files produced by various analysis and post-processing tools on my MAC X OS? For instance I made calculations of residue contacts using network method from MD ensemble tool and would like to obtain txt files of residue pair contacts (on Linux it usually saved in tmp folder).
