Dear Ines, I am not sure if this answers the question, but if you open the attached file named general-axes.bild in Chimera, it shows the axes (X red, Y yellow, Z blue). The BILD format is very simple. In fact, the file just contains the following text: .translate 0.0 0.0 0.0 .scale 5 .sphere 0 0 0 0.5 .color 1 0 0 .arrow 0 0 0 5 0 0 .color 1 1 0 .arrow 0 0 0 0 5 0 .color 0 0 1 .arrow 0 0 0 0 0 5 You can edit the file if you want to change the offset (the .translate line) or the size (the .scale line). BILD format is described here: <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/bild.html> I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Dear Madam/Sir, I would like to add the coordinates direction x,y,z in Chimera so that I may know the orientation of the unit cell. Could you let me know how to do this. Thank you very much in advance,
