You would get Chimera to "see" the plugin by installing the plugin anywhere you'd like, for instance inside a folder named "chimera-plugins" in your home directory.  Then start Chimera and use Favorites->Add to Favorites/Toolbar to bring up the Tools preferences interface.  In the "Locations" part of that panel use "Add…" to add the folder above the plugin (i.e. in the example, ~/chimera-plugins, rather than ~/chimera-plugins/ChimPlug).  Click Save in the preferences dialog to have the change apply to future uses of Chimera rather than just your current session.  The ChimPlug should show up in the Tools menu somewhere.

As per Elaine, I don't know how you would use ChimPlug specifically, but maybe getting it running in Chimera will give you some clues  (maybe there'll be a Help button?!?)…

Dear Ajay,
I didn’t know about Chimplug until seeing your message!

I see there is a website:
<http://lausanne.isb-sib.ch/~agrosdid/projects/chimplug/>

I tried clicking the documentation link on that page, but it never showed up.  My only other idea is to ask the developer.
Sorry about that,
Elaine

How would one use Chimplug plug-in in Chimera? I would like to generate CRD/PSF files for the ligand for use in CHARM.
Thanks
Ajay
