[Chimera-users] Read compressed PDB files -question, suggestion

We store the PDB locally, but compressed. Can one persuade chimera to read coordinates from a pipe ? Maybe this could be done at the python level. It might also not be too hard to use the python binding to the zlib library, but I would not know how to do this.
