Hi: I can report favourable results with Vista 64-bit. I found a bit of hesitancy in the rotation of a big protein when the anti-aliasing was set to make ribbons look smooth. All in all, I am still quite pleased with the results. (My only real gripe about Chimera is the awkward menu descent when changing the color of anything in the scene - but that issue is independent of the operating system). Does anyone have any information about Chimera running on the Vista OS (specifically the 64-bit version)?
We have only tried 32-bit Vista and it works there. Since other 32-bit applications run on 64-bit Vista, chimera should too. Keep in mind that the Vista graphics drivers are still improving rapidly, so update your graphics driver monthly for a while (at least until January 2008).
