Well, Chimera is known to have an issue surfacing some molecular structures, so the question is whether that's the issue here or something else. Can you open PDB ID 1GCN and see if you can surface that? If you can't, then it is something with your machine and you should use the Report a Bug dialog (under the Help menu) to send in a bug report along with any error messages you saw. If you can surface 1gcn, then it's something with your structures specifically and if you can provide some information about them I could provide further suggestions for workarounds. --Eric Eric Pettersen UCSF Computer Graphics Lab http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu On Jul 21, 2008, at 11:27 PM, Peter Lewis wrote:
Dear Chimera-Users I've recently changed my computer to a quad core system which runs Red Hat and virtual Windows. I've installed chimera (32 bit) on both linux and windows. I have tried using chimera downloads posted in both June and July this year but cannot get surface rendering to work for either operating system. Is this a bug with recent versions of chimera, and if so, how do I fix it, or is it a bug with my new system?
Any help gratefully appreciated.
