Hello I have downloaded Chimaera 1.18 for Mac I am running Ventura 13.4.1, and it tells me the file is corrupted when I try to open de dmg Is there any compatibility issue or should it run on this OS X? Thanks Gonzalo

Hi Gonzalo, I just tried to download Chimera 1.18 of our website, and it worked opening it from both the DMG (do not do this) and from the Applications folder after I dragged it there. I’m running the Sonoma beta to test ChimeraX on it. It’s possible that brief, transient network interruptions can corrupt downloaded files. You might try downloading it again. In any case, Chimera is ancient software, you would be much better served using ChimeraX unless you have a workflow that depends on unsorted Chimera features. If you have such a workflow, can you let us know what’s keeping you on Chimera so we can better prioritize those features? — Zach

Thanks Zach It worked now. I will follow your suggestion of using Chimaera X I am an old PI with minimum experience in handling structural software, so I will go with whatever is simpler. It will probably take me the same effort to learn either software Please send me the link for downloading the appropriate version, for Mac Gonzalo

Hi Gonzalo, It is similar to Chimera, just go to the UCSF ChimeraX website <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/index.html> and click the "Download" link on the left to go to the download page <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/download.html>, which will give you choices appropriate for your computer.
