Image use permission request from Jones and Bartlett Publishers in Boston
Dear Sir or Madam: My name is Asuka Ohsawa, and I am a freelance photo researcher for Jones and Bartlett Publishers, Inc., in Boston, MA. We're currently working on an educational textbook by Dr. Benjamin Lewin titled Essential Genes, 2nd Edition, and the author has requested to use the image that appears on the following website: http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/ImageGallery/entries/rnabases/ rnabases.html At your earliest convenience, could you please let me know who owns the copyright to the image in question, and how I can get in touch with him/her? In order for us to publish the image properly, we need to acquire a signature from the author of the image. Your kind assistance in this matter will be much appreciated. Hi Asuka, You are welcome to use the RNA bases image on the Chimera web site as long as you credit our lab and software. For example: "Image produced using the UCSF Chimera package from the Resource for Biocomputing, Visualization, and Informatics at the University of California, San Francisco" Here is a web page that talks more about how to cite us http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/credits.html I made the RNA bases image you are interested in. The large image link on that page has a 1500 x 1600 pixel version. http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/ImageGallery/entries/rnabases/1s72-rna-large... If higher resolution is needed I can probably make such an image for you. As described in the text below the image was made with a plug-in that is not distributed with Chimera.
