Dear Jan-Christian, You can save BRIX format from recent versions of Chimera, with "File... I quite often have to manipulate electron density maps in the spider format. When using chimeras volume eraser function, it doesn't allow me to save the new map back to spider or another easy-to-convert file format (such as brix or ccp4).
