<< Versions to download >>

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to put the version number of Chimera in the download or to add it to the file name. Regards and keep the good work!, Hatuey ___ Mike Ditka <http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/m/mike_ditka.html> - "If God had wanted man to play soccer, he wouldn't have given us arms."

Hi Hatuey, I guess you mean that when you install Chimera the installed name should be something like "Chimera 1.4" instead of "Chimera"? (Or do you mean the installer file name should have the version number?) Seems the vast majority of apps don't put the version in the application name. I put the Chimera version number in the name when I install Chimera on my machine, but I'm a developer and have lots of versions installed. Why do you want this? Hello Tom, Thank by your email. What I mean is to put the compilation version number for each file in the download page. So, it could be possible to look in the names of the files and get the building version. At this moment, I know the version I have installed, but I do not know which are the compilation version numbers of the files in the download page. I think that this could be possible in the compilation script to create something like this (for the build 2995): chimera-1.4-win32-b2995.exe Now all the builds have the same name: chimera-1.4-win32.exe Of course, this is not a big need, so, if you can not implement this, no problem! You are doing a great job developing Chimera! If you use chimera's Help / Check For Updates dialog, it will tell if if there is a newer version available on the chimera web site. And as part of that dialog, it will tell you your current build number and the newer build number. By default in the 1.4 release candidates, that check is done automatically for you every two weeks, so you'll be informed when the final production release is available. You can change the interval in the Preferences General category. - Greg On Wed, 18 Nov 2009, Hatuey Hack wrote:
