Good day for you, Would be so kind and help me. The problem is I want to color two parts of my volume. So, I have put markers inside of it, color two parts, but now I want to save this colored volume, such that after I would be able to duplicate it and use as a normal volume, but colored. Thank you in advance, Best, Alex
Hi Alex, Not sure what you mean. After coloring the volume contour surface you can save the Chimera session with File / Save Session As.... Then you can reshow this volume and coloring in a later Chimera session with File / Restore Session.... None of the volume data file formats (MRC, CCP4, BRIX, ...) save coloring information. Sometimes "mask" files are used to delimit separate regions. Chimera currently does not support masks. Otherwise the common approach is to split parts of a volume into separate files. You can do that with the Split Map button on the Color Zone dialog then use the volume dialog menu entry File / Same Map As... to save the resulting maps.
