Another question is how to see a stereo view of a structure in Chimera. Do I need a pair of special glasses for that?
You can use the Camera tool (Stereo) to make Chimera show either a cross- or wall-eyed stereo view. You don't need special glasses to use those modes, but you do need to be able to cross or unfocus your eyes (respectively) to get the two images to merge. Some people have difficulty doing that. The other stereo modes mentioned on the page I linked to do require special glasses, and are described in detail on that page. --Eric Eric Pettersen UCSF Computer Graphics Lab http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu
