I want to delete one molecule from the saved pdb file. How to do it when i open in chimera software. Iam attaching the concerned file. Please help me how to delete one molecule. Thanking you, G.Rama Devi.

Good day, Your PDB file is somewhat strange because it has the two molecules as one residue. Normally they would be two different residues so it would be easier to select one of them and delete it. However, with your current file, you can open in Chimera, rotate the view so that you can Ctrl-drag a rectangular box around all the atoms of one copy but not any of the other copy. After you do that all the atoms of one copy will be selected. If you mess up you can just rotate the view as needed and Ctrl-drag again. When all the atoms of one copy (and none of the other copy) are selected, choose menu: Actions… Atoms/Bonds… delete For the future, note that the correct address for Chimera questions is chimera-users@cgl.ucsf.edu (CC’d here) There are several tutorials if you want to learn more about using Chimera. <http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/frametut.html> I hope this helps, Elaine ---------- Elaine C.
