resolution distribution on density maps
Hi All, I have seen images in several papers, where the authors present resolution distribution for the density maps obtained by cryo-EM. I wanted to know to how to make these images for a low resolution cryo-EM map in Chimera. Thanks and Regards Shivushiv
Hi Shivushiv, Probably you seeing map surfaces colored by local resolution. This can be calculated using the ResMap software, and ResMap results opened in Chimera along with the original EM map. Then you can use the Surface Color tool in Chimera to color the isosurface of the EM map by the values from the local resolution map from ResMap. <http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/ContributedSoftware/surfcolor/surfcolor.html> ResMap is separate from Chimera but available for download: <http://resmap.sourceforge.net/#> …and is described in this paper <http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24213166> I hope this helps, Elaine ---------- Elaine C.
