On Windows, Chimera is currently compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio 2003, so it should run on any Intel CPU from 2003 onwards (and many earlier ones). The Core 2 came out in 2006. If you think chimera is not running properly, it is probably either a bug in chimera or a bug in the graphics driver. - Greg
