Hello, I work in IT for a University in Scotland and am looking to deploy Chimera X 1.12 to some of our computer labs. I tried the usual installer /S and installer /verysilent, etc. but I cannot get this to deploy successfully. Can someone please help me to resolve this please? Many thanks, Gail
The AI Overview from googling "chimerax users innosetup" suggests:
ChimeraX-1.12.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /LOG="C:\Logs\chimerax_install.log" That seems reasonable. Perhaps you left out the /LOG option? You will need to say more about how the deployment fails to be more specific. The ChimeraX 1.12 Windows installer is built with InnoSetup 6.6. The command line arguments to the installer are documented at https://jrsoftware.org/ishelp/index.php?topic=setupcmdline.
We used earlier versions of InnoSetup for UCSF Chimera, the predecessor to ChimeraX. You will find some advice in the chimera-users mailing list archives for unattended/silent Windows installations. For example, perhaps you are used to using MSI installers. https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/pipermail/chimera-users/2013-March/008594.html suggests using MSI Wrapper from exemsi.com to convert the installer to a MSI installer.
