Latest nightly broken on Mac (10.15.7)

Hi, In the notes for the latest nightly Chimera build, it states "Many user-interface problems on Mac fixed by upgrading the Tk windowing toolkit to version 8.6.10" - this sounds great, but it seems to have broken basic functionality, at least on my system. See screen recording here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rme49vjwsu8zz89/chimera_gui_issues.mov?dl=0 <https://www.dropbox.com/s/rme49vjwsu8zz89/chimera_gui_issues.mov?dl=0> Many UI elements are not responsive any more (including the "Report a Bug" dialog, hence why I am reporting here). This is using Mac OS X 10.15.7 on a macbook pro 16", using the trackpad. Cheers Oli

Hi Oliver, None of those problems you're having happen for me with my desktop machine running 10.14.6. Can you run Chimera 1.14 and report a bug from that so we can get full details about your machine? Thanks! --Eric Eric Pettersen UCSF Computer Graphics Lab

Hi Oliver, On my 15" MacBook Pro 2019 running macOS 10.15.7 the Chimera daily build Oct 7, 2020 with new Tk works correctly. Everything you tried in your video (command line, open dialog, quit) and the bug reporting worked correctly for me. Maybe worth moving your Chimera preferences file ~/.chimera/preferences and see if some preference you set is causing the issues. Tom

Hmm - well 1.14 and previous builds work fine so that is strange. I will try as you say and let you know if I run into any further issues Cheers Oli

Hi Tom, It is indeed a preferences issue - when I move the preferences file, the behavior goes away, when I move it back, it breaks again. I quite like and want to keep my preferences though. Now just need to figure out which one is causing the issue! Preferences file attached here for reference. Cheers Oli
