Hi , I want to make a solid line (with chosen color) between two atoms. Kind of like the line that appears when measuring distances between atoms, but without the distance legend. Is there an easy way to do that ? Thanks Hernando -- ----------------------------------- Hernando Sosa Dept. of Physiology and Biophysics Albert Einstein College of Medicine 1300 Morris Park Av. Hi Hernando, Sure, there are a couple of ways you could do it: (A) If you wanted to create several lines at once, optionally specifying individual colors and labels, you would use "PseudoBond Reader" (under Tools... Depiction). http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/ContributedSoftware/pbreader/pbreader.h... First you would create a simple text file specifying the pairs of atoms to connect, colors, etc. (format described in the above man page) and simply read it in with that tool. (B) If you only want a few lines, just create distance monitors. Then open the Distances tool (under Tools... Structure Analysis) http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/ContributedSoftware/structuremeas/struc... and in that tool, set Labels to "None." Click the "Display options..." button to open another panel that lets you change to solid lines. You can also change the color of all the monitors collectively that way. If you instead wanted to control the display individually, Ctrl-click on the pseudobond (the distance monitor) to select it, then open the Selection Inspector (one way is by clicking the button near the lower right corner of the Chimera window) and change its properties there. I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C.
