The savepos is a very useful command to save the state of the graphics. But after a while, the "savepos list" contains a long list. Is there a way to delete some of the states in the list? Thank you in advance, Jinghua

Hi Jinghua, The command: ~savepos viewname will "forget" the position named viewname. <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/savepos.html> Elaine ---------- Elaine C. Is there a way to match the lighting in the 1.5 version with 1.4 CHIMERA? I wanted to update an old image while keeping the lighting similar. Thank you for your advice! Jinghua

Hi Jinghua, I believe that the default lighting in release 1.5 is the same as the default lighting in 1.4. Both are two-point, and even though the brightness default value is a different number, that is because of changes in the equation used to calculate it, while the actual lighting of the scene is the same. For a while in the pre-1.5 daily builds, we had three-point mode as the default, but that got changed back to two-point mode before the 1.5 production release. If you have saved a session in earlier versions of Chimera, its lighting should be retained when it is restored in newer versions of Chimera. If you hadn't saved a session and were not using the default parameters in 1.4, I'm not sure how to translate 1.4 settings into equivalent 1.5 settings, but Greg may be able to advise. All of the above is my current understanding of the situation. If you have a specific example where these expectations are not met, however, please use Help... Report a Bug and include instructions or attach files as needed for reproducing the problem. Thanks Elaine ----- Elaine C.
