saving multiple models in Chimera

Dear Sirs/Madamme I have multiple PDB'a (ca.40) in the model panel. While trying to save each model in single file using option "Save multiple models in multiple files" I got this message: You must provide a file name that contains either $name or $number. I set the name to eg. A1_01 and/or A1_$01 but none of this works. How shall I manage that? Many thanks Kind regards Kamil J. Dear Kamil, It means exactly what it says, you have to enter something that literally includes “$name” or “$number”. For example, you could enter A1_$number.pdb Then Chimera substitutes in the actual numbers, to create multiple different names from the single name that you entered. I hope this helps, Elaine ---------- Elaine C. Meng, Ph.D. UCSF Computer Graphics Lab (Chimera team) and Babbitt Lab Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry University of California, San Francisco

Dear Elaine, Thank You for the help, it works fine. Looks like I didn't take the message literally :) Best, K Kamil J.
