Dear Chimera developers, I am trying to make a movie of how we think domains of our complex interact. Essentially, there will be three morphs, made from different pdb files, that need to be displayed simultaneously. How can I get the three trajectories to happen at the same time? Sincerely, Charles Midgett

Hi Charles, You can use the "morph" and "coordset" Chimera commands to create the morphs and play them. The coordset command is new in Chimera 1.4 so you'll need a Chimera 1.4 daily build to use it. There's an example using these two commands at the bottom of the following Chimera movie making tutorial. http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/tutorials/movies09/moviemaking.html http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/tutorials/movies09/data/1m5l.cmd Documentation for these two commands is here: http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/morph.html http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/coordset.html If you use the coordset command 3 times for the 3 different morphs with no "wait" commands between them, then all 3 will play concurrently. If you are not planning on using the Chimera morph calculation but instead have separate PDB models for frames of your morph the following mailing list message may help: http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/pipermail/chimera-users/2009-April/003797.html Tom Charles Midgett wrote:
