Hello, I have been trying to download Chimera using this link <http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/download.html>, but the website will not allow it to download. Is there another website or place to download the program? Thank you, Lance Graduate Research Assistant Nanoscale Materials and Device Group nano.boisestate.edu In some cases, this email may contain proprietary or confidential information. Hi Lance, That’s the right URL… I don’t think anybody else has reported being unable to download. Clicking the link to download should show another page with a license agreement, which you have to accept by clicking the “Accept” button at the bottom for the download to initiate. I hope this helps, Elaine ---------- Elaine C. Meng, Ph.D. UCSF Chimera(X) team Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry University of California, San Francisco

Hi Elaine, Clicking the link (chimera-1.11.2-win64.exe <http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/cgi-bin/secure/chimera-get.py?file=win64/chimera-1.11.2-win64.exe>) takes me to a site that cannot be reached. I have tried different computers and browsers. Thus far, nothing as worked. I do not see the license agreement page. I don’t think anyone else is experiencing any trouble with this. The only significant difference between the first download page and the one you’re having trouble with is that the first is http whereas the second is https. I don’t know if that rings any bells for you. Could you try using a different browser? It may or may not work with a different browser, but more importantly it may give you a more informative error message than you are getting with your current browser. —Eric Eric Pettersen UCSF Computer Graphics Lab

It may also somehow be due to firewall restrictions at your campus. You should also try downloading from home if you can. —Eric

Just in case this bites anyone else, it was in fact due to Windows 10 Firewall. —Eric
