chimera options opening in tabs and not windows

Dear Developers, I have somewhat of a strange problem with chimera where, different options of the program open into tabs in the same window as opposed to having their own windows. While this is mildly irritating especially when I am using the volume viewer to change the contour level of the map and not being able to visualise the changes in the map as they appear, what gets my goat is that the options/prgorams become unavailable to access when i pull the tab out into its own window. I know this isnt a chimera problem as i have the same issue with other python based programs such as imod and eman. Would you know where i can tweak the preferences so that the programs do not open in tabs but their own independent windows? I appreciate your assistance. Hi Pranav, You don’t say what platform you’re running Chimera on, but I’m guessing it’s a Mac. If so, go to Apple’s System Preferences and in the Dock category change “Prefer tabs when opening documents” from “Always” to one of the other two choices. —Eric Eric Pettersen UCSF Computer Graphics Lab
