chimera-1.18-linux_x86_64.bin is for AMD/Intel 64 bit processors (x86_64), and your Apple Mac Mini M2 has an ARM 64 bit processor (aarch64). So it is not compatible. If you ran macOS on your Mac Mini, you could enable Rosetta to emulate x86_64 applications on your mini. Unfortunately there is no simple equivalent for Linux. You would need to run Chimera under an emulator. Searching, I've seen references to QEMU and Box64. It looks like it might be possible to make it work, but would be very difficult and fragile. The expectation in the Linux community is that the applications would be recompiled to run on on ARM64 natively. Unfortunately, we are not funded to work on Chimera anymore, and it would be a fair amount of work, so that's not going to happen. You should consider switching from Chimera to ChimeraX. We are working on making native ARM64 builds for Linux. It's not a high priority project, but we would appreciate beta testers. And more interest increases the priority.
