Greetings from a newbie to Chimera, Is there a searchable archive? (I found the archive, but no associated search engine) I'd really like to be able to install Chimera without blowing away my current Python installation - is this possible? (I'll be using both Windows and Linux) Thanks, Randy

Hi Randy, There isn't an engine right now, you're right. The person in charge of the archive will be adding a search engine after getting a few other things cleared away.

Chimera installs it's own version of Python within its own hierarchy and doesn't touch the system version. If you deinstall Chimera, its Python goes with it -- no fuss, no muss. Several versions back we offered the option of using the system Python, but various compatibility headaches made us abandon that option. So, install away and have fun!
