Greetings, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to select multiple sequences in the sequence viewer. I am trying to select different regions of RNA to visualize, but Chimera has not allowed me to pick to sequences that are separate. Is there a way to do it through the sequence viewer? Thank you, Charlie

Hi Charlie, The default mode of selection is to replace the previous selection with the new one, but you can use the additive mode of selection instead: Change the selection mode to "append" (in the main menu: Select... Selection Mode... append). Then in the Sequence panel, each segment you drag out adds to the existing selection, so eventually you can have multiple segments selected. The highlighting in sequence blinks off while you are dragging a new segment, but when you let up, they will all be selected. You probably want to turn the selection mode back to the default "replace" afterward to avoid confusion. I hope this is what you had in mind - Best, Elaine ----- Elaine C.
