coil representation thickness

Hi, I am trying to setup a python script to display a series of similar structures. I would like each shown as just a thin coil like licorice but much thinner. I can get the representation I want by using custom scaling in the Ribbon Style Editor and setting everything to 0.1. Is there a command line command to set the thickness of licorice. Else, how can I do give the scaling commands used in the Ribbon Style Editor from the command line or what python command(s) will do it. Thanks in advance. Hi Evan, Although there is no command for the individual settings in the Ribbon Style Editor, you can use that tool to name and save the scaling. The scaling information is saved in your preferences file, and subsquently you can restore the scaling by name with a command, e.g.: ribscale whatchamacallit <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/ContributedSoftware/ribbonstyle/ribbonstyle.html#scaling> <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/ribscale.html> (I imagine it could all be done directly in python without saving a scaling, but someone else would have to advise on that approach.) I hope this helps, Elaine ---------- Elaine C.
