Hello, When I save attributes to a text file from the "Render/Select by Attribute" dialogue box the values are written to the file apparently in a random order. Is there a way to get the residues or atoms to be written in a sensible way? i.e. by residue/atom number. Thanks, Scott Classen

Hi Scott, The two Chimera experts on this topic are on vacation back the end of next week. I don't know what controls the order of atoms in a saved attribute file. It is possible that it is random. It is quite possible that you have no control over it. Your suggestion to have a sensible order is reasonable. http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/ContributedSoftware/defineattrib/define... Tom

Hello, FWIW It appears to be random when exporting only the selected atoms/residues. However, If I export the entire model then everything is ordered. Thanks, Scott On Apr 20, 2010, at 10:54 PM, Tom Goddard wrote:

Hi Scott, In tomorrow's daily build, the output will be sorted when saving attributes of the selection. --Eric Eric Pettersen UCSF Computer Graphics Lab http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu On Apr 22, 2010, at 10:37 AM, Scott Classen wrote:
