Respected Sir/Madam, I am a former research fellow and trying to use chimera for different view purpose. I tried for the mouse movement option but it is not working. Only some commands work in the downloaded software. Want to know, for the tools to be active is there any need of further license for the tools or any thing else. If yes is there any academic license facility and if no how could I rectify this problem. It will be helpful if I get to know where the problem is. Looking for your reply.
Thanking you.
Dear Priyanka, There is no activation process: once you download the program you have all of its features Maybe you just haven’t figured out how to use the commands or tools correctly, or there is some other problem.
You could try going through one or more of the tutorials and seeing if the commands/tools work if you follow the instructions exactly. Getting started tutorial: http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/Outreach/Tutorials/GettingStarted.html Other tutorials: http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/frametut.html
I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Meng, Ph.D. UCSF Chimera(X) team Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry University of California, San Francisco
