Hi guys, is there a way to change the transparency of intersurf objects? I'd like to have the surface not hiden all the object in behing one given view. thanks a lot, cheers jd Dr. Jean-Didier Maréchal Lecturer The Computational Biotechnological Chemistry Team Unitat de Química Física Departament de Química Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Edifici C.n. 08193 Cerdanyola (Barcelona) Tel: +34.935814936 e-mail: JeanDidier.Marechal@uab.es www: http://asklipio.qf.uab.es

Hi JD, You can use the menu: Actions... Surface... transparency...[%value] or the "surftransparency" command, where the intersurf surface can be specified by model number (#N) or by selecting it with Ctrl-click and using the word "sel": <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/surftransparency.html> <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/atom_spec.html#othermo...> Also, in Chimera version 1.7 (fairly recent daily build), there is a "transparency" command that can be used on not just surfaces but other items (atoms, ribbons, etc.): <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/transparency.html> I hope this helps, Elaine ---------- Elaine C. Hi Elaine, just worked fine. I guess I used an too old built version for which intersurf surface weren't behaving as standard surface. thank you very much. jd **************************** Dr. Jean-Didier Maréchal Lecturer The Computational Biotechnological Chemistry Team Unitat de Química Física Departament de Química Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Edifici C.n. 08193 Cerdanyola (Barcelona) Tel: +34.935814936 e-mail: JeanDidier.Marechal@uab.es www: http://asklipio.qf.uab.es 2012/6/5 Elaine Meng <meng@cgl.ucsf.edu>
