Unfortunately we don't have any laptops with dual graphics to test this. Perhaps someone else on this can speak up?

I assume you have installed the proprietary Nvidia graphics driver. The open source driver doesn't work well enough for ChimeraX. And if your are using Wayland, make sure xwayland is installed. Or try using X11 instead of Wayland. Historically, X11 has worked better than Wayland.

Another thing to try, does ChimeraX work if you use the prime-select command to force the Nvidia graphics instead setting __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD and __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME? If that works, then it is probably a prime issue.

I'm having problems installing ChimeraX version 1.11.1 in ubuntu 24.04. It crashes right after execution with the following terminal output
