Unfortunately, we don't have an arm64 Windows system to test on.   Try looking in the Windows Event Viewer for an event related to the installer failure.  If there is one, it should tell you more about what's wrong.  Also, check which version of Windows 11 you have, you need 24H2 or newer.   It looks like the WIndows 10 on Arm only supports 32-bit binaries.  I will keep thinking about this.

Which version of ChimeraX are you trying to install?  The installer change to make it work on arm64 is only in the 1.9 release candidate and the daily builds.

Hi Greg

I finally got the Surface pro 11 (running Win11 on  64bit ARM)

If I run the installer for the daily built (Nov20th) of ChimeraX I get :

"This program does not support the version of Windows your computer is running"

The x86_64 emulator should be running by default (I also forced it)

Any idea ?

Thanks a lot

Cedric

We just changed the Windows x86_64 installer, so this is only in the daily build, to allow ChimeraX to be installed on Windows ARM64 if x86_64 emulation support is enabled.  Not sure if you have to enable it explicitly, or if it is on by default.

Hi ChimeraX team

I wanted to know if ChimeraX can run on a tablet, either Ipad (M2 or M4 chips) of a Windows tablet (either Intel or Qualcomm Snapdragon) ?

Obviously not for using it as main workstation, but rather check structural features while on the move.

Thanks

Cedric
