Yes unfortunately one of two things is happening: either Qt's
Wayland support still isn't good enough to support the kinds of
dialogs we use for tools, or Microsoft's WSLg uses a Wayland
compositor that doesn't support whatever Qt on Wayland uses to
move child windows. You should use the Windows version of
ChimeraX.

Not sure what to say. Use the Windows version? There is also a chance that the daily build will work because it uses a newer version of the Qt user interface toolkit. And if not, then perhaps some newer version of ChimeraX that has an even newer version of Qt in it.
Sorry I don't have better news.
