Hi Talha, Yes, you would definitely need to manually move one model relative to the other before doing the local fitting. Since it is different in ChimeraX compared to Chimera, this is a frequently asked question. In ChimeraX you use different "mouse modes" which are accessed by clicking icons in the Right Mouse tab of the toolbar across the top. For example, there is a "move selected models" mouse mode that you can assign to a button, after which using that button will only move the models that are selected, leaving the unselected ones frozen in place. See "Selective Manipulation" in the link below, with pictures of the relevant icons and explanations of how to use the mouse modes: <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/ui.html#selective> I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. hi I am using chimerax for model visualization. i wanted to inquire how can drag and rotate a selected model to manually overlap with my density may. in chimera1.13 version in model panel i could just uncheck the action option and perform my task. i can not figure this in chimerax to move my model over the density. fit in map is not able to align the models. may be manually aligning them and then perform fit to map works better.
looking forward to hearing from you talha
