This is difficult to debug remotely, I recommend asking someone
near you to help. Either another student or someone on the
staff. That said:
The ChimeraX download is the application installer. So you need to run the download first, install ChimeraX, and then UCSF ChimeraX should be in your Start Menu, and a ChimeraX icon should be on your desktop (unless you choose not to install those ways of accessing ChimeraX). So you then start ChimeraX by using the Start Menu or double-clicking on the desktop icon. If ChimeraX fails to start, then it probably because you need to update your graphics driver. So update your graphics driver and try again. The Windows Event Viewer should have an event that says how it failed.

Hello,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing because I have a couple of questions regarding opening up the ChimeraX program. I am a student and I have downloaded the ChimeraX and cannot seem to open the program despite it being on my desktop. I have Microsoft and the software is Windows 11.Thank you for your help.
