Hi Vincent, The front/back clipping planes (the ones that can be at any angle) can be turned off for specific models. See "per-model clipping" at the bottom of this page: <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/clip.html#model> There is an example image and associated commands in the "Coloring a Clipped Surface" section of the "Protein-Ligand Binding Sites" tutorial: <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/tutorials/binding-sites.html#to...> <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/tutorials/binding-sites.html#ca...> In that example, the surface is clipped but the atomic model is not. It would be the same for cartoons (they are part of the atomic model). I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to have 2 different clipping planes, 1 per model? It would be nice to show an helix as a surface within a domain like this.
