Hi Phil, Here are four different ways. (1 & 2) You can specify the color when you make the hbonds. There is a color square (aka color well) near the top of the H-Bonds dialog, for example, that you can click on to edit the color in your system color-editor before running the calculation, or if you are using the command, you can say it in the command, e.g. hbonds color black <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/tools/hbonds.html> <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/hbonds.html> There are a bunch of other settings like thickness (radius) and number of dashes that you can also specify. (3 & 4) Or, if you already made them and don't want to do it again, just change the color after the fact. Use the disclosure triangle(s) as needed in the Models panel so that you can see the "hydrogen bonds" model. You can click the color square for that model in the Models panel and change it in the system color-editor, or note the model number and use a command, e.g. if the hydrogen bonds model is #1.1, command: color #1.1 black <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/tools/modelpanel.html> <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/color.html#simple> I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. I am developing a publication image that shows the hydrogen bonds between two chains. How can I ensure that the dashed lines that show the H+ is displayed in black. From the papers I see in refereed publications, black seems to be the color of dashed lines showing these bonds.
