Yes. To elaborate a little, it's missing-structure pseudobonds between the last backbone atom of one polymeric residue and the first backbone atom of another. Also, there are analogous criteria for nucleic-acid bonds / missing-structure pseudobonds. --Eric

Ahh ok. After reading some comments in the code and doing some testing, at least in proteins, the chain expands whenever a bond is created between C and N atoms of different residues, and when a "missing structure" pseudobond is created between CA atoms, is that correct?
