Hi Valeria,
If you mean straight lines between CA atoms, sorry no, there is no CA trace display in ChimeraX yet.  It is #694 in our ticket database.

You can show a spaghetti-type ribbon that goes through the exact CA positions but is curved in between, e.g.

cartoon
cartoon style arrows f xsect oval width 1 thick 1

as shown for the purple protein in rightmost image here:
<http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/home/meng/chimerax/docs/user/commands/cartoon.html#subcommands>

In that case you could use different width and thickness values.  If you want to additionally show CA balls, maybe something like:

cartoon suppressBackbone false
cartoon style arrows f xsect oval width .5 thick .5
show @ca
style @ca ball

… as shown in attached image. I hope this helps,
Elaine

Dear all,
I was wondering, is there an option to just show a Ca trace in ChimeraX?
If yes, can one modify the width of it?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Valeria
