Hi Xiang Chen, The virtual reality code in ChimeraX is all Python and is included in the application in the se locations Mac: ChimeraX.app/Contents/lib/python3.7/site-package/chimerax/vive Windows: ChimeraX/bin/lib/site-packages/chimerax/vive Linux: ChimeraX/lib/python3.7/site-packages/chimerax/vive The file with most of the code i that directory is vr.py. For ChimeraX daily builds the python3.7 becomes python3.8. It is a bit embarrassing but our ChimeraX GitHub repository is currently a private personal user repository. We just moved it to GitHub a month ago. Github personal user repositories only allow owners and collaborators both having full write access, and we don't want to give out full write access on our repository. So we are working on two steps: 1) make a GitHub organization which allows more levels of permission, including read access, and 2) make the repository public. The making it public part requires checking with UCSF bureaucracy because there are commercial ChimeraX licenses for companies. These steps require time from Scooter Morris and Tom Ferrin in our lab and their time is very limited, so we have not been making any progress on these goals the past month since we moved to Github, but hopefully in the coming month we will get it done. I developed the ChimeraX VR capabilities and would be happy to discuss what VR ideas you are interested in. I am mostly working on multi-person VR sessions right now that use the ChimeraX meeting command. There are challenges dealing with firewalls, usually every participant is behind a firewall so a public server is needed to connect. And there are challenges synchronizing the VR state between all the participants. Tom
